Sarah Palin to sign books in Naperville

Sarah Palin will be in Naperville Dec. 1 to sign copies of her latest book, but fans might want to leave their bags and cameras behind if they plan to attend.
The first woman to be selected as a Republican a presidential running mate and first woman to be elected governor of Alaska will visit the Naperville Marriott on Naper Boulevard to autograph her new book "Sweet Freedom: A Devotional," a series of meditations based on Bible verses.
Although Anderson's Bookshop in Naperville is the official bookseller for the event, tickets for the 6 p.m. Dec. 1 signing are available exclusively through Brown Paper Tickets atwww.sarahpalinandersons.brownpapertickets.comhttp://www.sarahpalinandersons.brownpapertickets.com. Tickets cost $26 and include an autographed book and a photograph with Palin.
Candy Purdom, publicity and events coordinator for the family owned chain, said Anderson's is not accepting orders for the event via the phone, online or over the counter; fans must go to the website. Copies of her book, without a signature, are available at Anderson's. The book was published Nov. 16.
Security will be enhanced for signing, and no bags, purses and cell phones will be allowed at the signing table, Purdom said. Guests will be required to leave personal items at a location within sight of the table and retrieve them as they exit the area.
People are encouraged to bring as little as possible. "You want to be streamlined," Purdom said.
Purdom said because cell phones and cameras are not allowed at the table, a professional photographer will be on hand to snap pictures of Palin with each guest. Photographs can be downloaded for free after the signing.
Purdom said having a photographer allows the line to move more quickly and flow easily because guests aren't spending time fiddling with their phones.
In "Sweet Freedom," Palin tells readers they are not alone in their doubts and anxieties and urges them to draw strength and inspiration from 260 meditations. Her book goes on to show that with abiding faith and remaining open to the truths in the Bible, readers can thrive and experience true freedom.
After her stint in the political arena, Palin has dabbled in television, including hosting TLC network's "Sarah Palin's Alaska" and serving as an occasional Fox News contributor. She is also a New York Times best-selling author of "Going Rogue," "America by Heart" and "Good Tidings and Great Joy." She was named Time magazine's "100 Most Influential People" in 2010.
A resident of Wasilla, Alaska, with her husband, Todd, Palin is the mother of five children and grandmother of two.

Tickets to this event are available exclusively at www.sarahpalinandersons.brownpapertickets.com. We are not able to accept orders through the store. Books purchased via our website, in store, or over the phone will not receive a ticket.
This will be a signing line only event. One ticket admits one person to the line (except children under 18, who are free). You will receive your signed book after you meet Ms. Palin and have a photo opportunity. A professional photographer will be on hand to take your photo, which you can download (for free of course!) right after the event. Books are NOT available for pick up prior to the event!
PLEASE NOTE that no bags, purses, or cell phones will be allowed at the signing table. We will have a place to leave your items (within your sight) as you approach the table and then retrieve them as you are leaving the area, but it will be easiest if you bring as little as possible into the venue.
