For
parents looking to give life lessons to their children they could
find few better examples to use than Donald Trump and Sarah Palin.
They
provide, from completely different ends of the social and financial
spectrum, valuable lessons
in
dealing with challenging life situations, meeting them head on and
becoming high achievers.
With
Trump he had to overcome the temptations of abundance, with Palin she
had to rise up from one of the most obscure backgrounds imaginable.
Both achieved their high positions through sheer willpower, masses of
energy and utter commitment.
Trump
was raised in an urban environment with all its temptations,
especially to a young man with substantial wealth. He doesn't drink
or smoke, has no history of personal cupidity. He has, through
education and energy used his (not that relatively substantial)
financial inheritance to amass a fortune estimated at ten billion
dollars.
Palin
was raised in utter obscurity in far away Alaska in a loving but low
income family. By sheer force of will, unbounded energy, a deep and
abiding faith and a life of blameless honesty she rose from her first
steps in the local PTA to governor and the
vice-presidential candidate
Obviously,
since they are human they have their flaws and are not universally
loved-who is. But
nobody
can take their achievements away from them.
In
Palin's case they are achievements against seeming insurmountable
odds, in Trumps they are achievement in spite of odds being in his
favor!
As
examples for families, whether rich or poor, the lives of Trump and
Palin hold out substantial lessons to present to their young people.
You
don't have to succumb to temptations as so many sons and daughters of
wealthy people have, you don't have accept that your station in life
is a barrier to advancement no matter how poor and obscure it may be.
You can disregard the haters and jealous people who will attack as
you rise up using the Trump/Palin examples for your own advancement.
Whatever
the future may hold for them, even to the pinnacle of society as
president or continuing on in business and politics and/or
entertainment at some level, Trump and Palin's life stories hold
valuable, positive and eternal truths as role model examples.
